The Greene County cross country team opened the season at a strong meet hosted by Gilbert on Thursday, Aug. 24. The girls team placed eighth while the boys were 13th.
“I was extremely proud of the way we competed and pleased with the times. For a lot of these runners, this is their first experience running a 5K, especially on the boys’ side,” said coach Jeff Lamoureux. “Three out of the five runners were competing in their first 5K race. We have a little work to do and the kids know that, but they are working hard and we are seeing improvement each and every day.”
